The Alcove

The Alcove’s mission is to provide a safe place where children and their families who are grieving the death of a loved one can receive comfort and support through the healing process.  Established in November 2001 as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, the Alcove Center for Grieving Children and families provides bereavement support services for the Southern New Jersey area.

Imagine – A Center for Coping with Loss


Imagine is a not-for-profit organization supporting children and adults coping with loss and to foster resiliency and emotional well-being for all those who grieve.  They offer free year-round peer grief support groups for children age 3-18 who have had a parent or sibling die, and grief support groups for young adults 18-30 who have had a parent or sibling, friend or other family member die.

The Mission of Common Ground is to provide support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults, and their families grieving a death can come together and share their experiences as they begin the journey through their grief process.  The Center is supported solely by private donations through individuals, corporations and grants.

Mobile Response and Stabilization Services

Mobile Response and Stabilization Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help children and youth who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. The services are designed to defuse an immediate crisis, keep children and their families safe, and maintain the children in their own homes or current living situation (such as a foster home, treatment home or group home) in the community.
